Hello dear readers. I finally got back from a crazy summer and have been able to get here and write an update on the club. So here we go.

Lately the club has been doing well. We have had some newcomers from some recent press and have had some exciting games to watch as well. Recently though Brad Myers, has gone on a tear beating Haizhou Xu, and Dave Carter in the last 2 rounds! It has been fun watching some heavyweight matcups. We have also had at least 2 new weekly players and possibly more members in the future!

The club has had a rent raise to deal with recently from 75 dollars to 82 dollars. So expect dues to go up to deal with this increase. Though the increase will be minor. We also lookforward to a couple of young players improving and getting better. Gabe Katz is a bright young talent. He has been coming over during the summer and sadly wont be able to attend during the school year as its too late of a night. He is a solid player though and should improve quickly, we hope to have him keep coming back every summer.

Vermont Chess League News-

OK, so you have heard about this Vermont Chess League and want to join. Well talk with me or my dad Don Brooks at the Club to get in on it. There are plenty of spots open and it is USCF rated. Please join! 

We have started to get ready for it, asking team captains for team info but many are not ready, so therfore a lot of strong players are available. If your a team captain keep your eye out!
